[All-ages] A Pentecost Worship Feast!
May 24 10:00 - 11:15 am
At worship feasts, we share a meal, shaped by a worship service, to help nurture our community and lead us to reflect on Jesus and his ministry. This worship feast will be held on Pentecost Sunday, a special day in the Christian calendar.
What’s Pentecost?
At Pentecost, we celebrate (along with Christians all over the world) the day when God gave Jesus’s followers the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit would comfort and encourage them, and empower them to do more than they would ever have been able to do all on their own. It was a day when the believers, who were just beginning to understand the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, were shown that God’s love and Christ’s story would reach far and wide, and that they were the ones who would share it. (Acts 1:1-10; Acts 2:1-21)
What happens at Worship Feasts?
We’ll begin our worship in the sanctuary as usual, and travel from the sanctuary to tables as our worship continues. Children are welcome and included. After we hear the Bible story for the day, we will eat, drink, and talk together.
What if I have children with me?
Children are welcome and included. So that we can be all together, there will be no supervised playtime and no nursery planned for the morning. This is an in-person event with no live-streaming available. (All of those services will resume the following week.)
