July 2026

July 5, 2026 - Hope Cottage

Hope Cottage offers meals and support to over 200 people through neighbourhood meals, served Monday to Friday, 10:00-11:00 a.m., and 5:00-6:00 p.m.

July 12, 2026 - Canadian Food Grains Bank

Canadian Foodgrains Bank is a partnership of 15 Canadian churches and church-based agencies, including the Presbyterian Church in Canada (PCC), working together to end global hunger. Through the Government of Canada’s support, donations are multiplied on a four-to-one basis.

July 19, 2026 - All Nations Church's Building Fund

All Nations Church’s Building Fund donations go toward capital improvements to the church building and manse.

July 26, 2026 - Open Door Centre

Open Door Centre is a safe, confidential place of support in HRM, committed to providing high-quality, free care around pregnancy, parenting, post-abortion, miscarriage, pornography, and sexual exploitation.

August 2026

August 2, 2026 - The work of missionaries David Kromminga and Mary Buteyn, in Berlin

Resonate missionaries David Kromminga and Mary Buteyn serve in Germany in cooperation with the Berliner Stadtmission, on the front line of the refugee crisis in Europe.

Focus

Mary and David are providing pastoral care, language education, leadership training for new Christians, and worship support, as well as promoting interreligious understanding and offering workshops for congregations in intercultural competence.

August 9, 2026 - All Nations Church's Benevolence Fund

All Nations Church’s Benevolence Fund is used by the Diaconal Elders at All Nations to share God’s mercy with those in need in our community. The fund enables All Nations to offer financial support to people facing emergency situations.

August 16, 2026 - Presbyterian World Service & Development

Established in 1947,  PWS&D is the officially recognized international development and emergency relief agency of The Presbyterian Church in Canada.

Mandate, Vision, and Focus

PWS&D is a registered Canadian charity whose mandate is to reduce poverty, oppression, and injustice in communities worldwide, operating under a guiding vision of a sustainable, compassionate, and just world. Its operational focus includes investing in long-term community development programs aimed at addressing the root causes of poverty, alongside providing immediate emergency relief.

August 23, 2026 - Canadian Foodgrains Bank

August 30, 2026 - The Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Society

The Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Society provides culture-focused programs, services, and supports to urban indigenous people and their families in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

September 2026

September 6, 2026 - Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank

The Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank provides food, furniture, and other necessities to those in need in our city. They welcome donations of furniture and household items.

September 13, 2026 - All Nations Church's Benevolence Fund

September 20, 2026 - St. George's Youth Net

Youth Net provides free programs to children and youth living in or near Uniacke Square, a public housing neighbourhood in northend Halifax.

In operation since 1998, YouthNet strives to encourage youth to discover their potential through an after-school program, a lunch program and an evening teen program along with summer camp and wilderness camping trips.

October 2026

October 4, 2026 - Adsum for Women and Children

Adsum for Women and Children has offered support to women and children in Halifax municipality during periods of homelessness and housing insecurity since 1983. Adsum operates an emergency shelter as well as transitional and permanent housing. Adsum means “I am here.”

October 18, 2026, 2026 - ARK Outreach

Ark works in the local community, offering support and building relationships with many of our neighbours facing homelessness, crisis, and barriers to accessing needed resources. Ark works with youth, families, and individuals, helping to navigate services, such as legal advice, health care, addiction services, mental health support, education, employment, and housing options.

November 2026

November 8, 2026 - The Ecology Action Centre

The Ecology Action Centre is a member-based environmental charity in Nova Scotia. Since 1971, they’ve taken leadership on critical environmental issues from biodiversity protection to climate change to environmental justice.

November 22, 2026 - Welcome Housing

Welcome Housing works in our city to help people secure safe, affordable housing. Welcome Housing owns six apartment buildings in HRM that allow their tenants to live independently with access to tenant support, a wellness coordinator and wider networks of support.

Souls Harbour Rescue Mission works to rescue people from poverty, addiction, and despair by offering emergency help such as food, clothing,  and shelter.
